Mr. David W. Fortner, 62, of Blue Ridge Summit, PA passed away Friday, May 29, 2026, in his home.
Born February 17, 1964 in Fort Campbell, KY, he was the son of Donna (Dellinger) Morrow of Burnsville, NC and the late Dean Fortner.
David spent his early years growing up in Burnsville NC and was a 1982 graduate of Mountain Heritage High School. His journey carried him across the country- from the mountains of NC to the West coast, through the Midwest and ultimately to Pennsylvania.
Along the way he built lasting friendships and accumulated a wealth of experiences that reflected his spirit and appreciation for life’s opportunities.
Professionally, David was employed by Penguin Random House beginning in 2018. Through his dedication and commitment, he contributed to one of the world’s leading publishing organizations and took pride in the work he perfected there. He leaves behind his mother, Donna Morrow of Burnsville, NC; sister, Deanna Hall and David (Brother-in-law); sister, Denise Fortner of Blue Ridge Summit, PA. He also had a niece and nephew and several grandnephews and nieces. He will be greatly missed.
Services and burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
