Mr. Dar E. Snyder, 81, of Marsh Road, Waynesboro, PA, passed away Saturday, September 27, 2025 at home surrounded by his loving family..
Born February 12, 1944, he was the son of the late Marshall and Rosella E. (Woodring) Snyder.
He and his wife of 62 years, Mrs. Darlene Kay (Speer) Snyder were married April 13, 1963 in Waynesboro. They lived at their home on Marsh Road for over 55 years. Mrs. Snyder passed away January 21, 2025.
Mr. Snyder worked as a mechanic at Knepper’s Auto and Grove Manufacturing as a welder for over 40 years.
A dedicated husband, father and grandfather, Dar treasured time spent with his family. He also enjoyed watching Westerns, spending time outdoors, hunting and Nascar.
Mr. Snyder is survived by four children, Michele Snyder of Waynesboro, Darla Hollars (Jerry) of Hereford, AZ, Darin Snyder (Kerry) of Waynesboro and Timothy Snyder (Tiffany) of Waynesboro; ten grandchildren, Dustin Starliper, Colby Hollars, Caleb Hollars, Rachel Hollars, Zoey Snyder, Timothy D. Snyder, Kaeden Snyder, Brooks Snyder, Max Snyder, and Spencer Snyder; two brothers, Marshall “Gene” Snyder (Judy) of Boonsboro, MD and Terry W. Snyder (Carol) of Waynesboro; one sister, Sharon M. Hocker of Colorado Springs, CO; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one brother, Ray E. Snyder.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, October 3, 2025 in Green Hill Cemetery, 953 S. Potomac St., Waynesboro.
