Cy O’Dell Anderson, age 73, of Greencastle, PA passed away on Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Waynesboro Hospital. Born January 10, 1953, in Waynesboro, PA. He was the son of the late Charles and Elva (Sellers) Anderson.
Mr. Anderson was a 1971 graduate of the Greencastle-Antrim Senior High School and a 1975 graduate of Millersville University, where he earned his degree in secondary education. Over the years, he worked as a commercial vehicle parts representative. He was a Sons of the American Legion member of Post 373 in Greencastle, PA, the YMCA, and Moss Spring Swim club. Growing up, he was a talented athlete playing many sports throughout high school. He also participated in triathlons, swimming, and bicycle riding. As an avid sports fan, he cheered for Penn State and the Pittsburgh Steelers. He also enjoyed thrifting, always finding the value in the little things.
As a loving father and family caretaker, he is survived by his two children, Cody Anderson of Clear Spring, MD, and Summer Moore (Bryce Davis) of Tallahassee, FL; five grandchildren, Aaliyah, Julian, Jeremiah, Brayden, Serenity; one sister-in-law, Marty Anderson of TX; a niece, Tarra Anderson of TX; nephew, Dell Anderson of AZ; and numerous great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Debbi (Debra) Anderson, in 2016 and a brother, Ordean Charles Anderson.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, at 11:00 AM from the Harold M. Zimmerman and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 45 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA 17225 with Ms. Dot Robinson officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Browns Mill Cemetery, Kauffman, PA. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday, February 12 from 7-9 PM and one hour prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to the American Legion Post 373, 254 S. Carlisle St., Greencastle, PA 17225.
