Mrs. Crena L. (Reed) Freeman, 89, of Quincy, PA passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024, in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born January 20, 1935 in Mont Alto, PA, she was the daughter of the late Oscar G. and Edith V. (Gossert) Reed. She was a lifelong resident of the Mont Alto and Quincy areas.
She and her husband, the late Chancey W. Freeman, were married on December 20, 1958, in Hagerstown, MD. Mr. Freeman died on October 5, 1981.
In her early life, Mrs. Freeman worked at the Waynesboro Knitting Mill and Carroll Shoe Factory in Mont Alto. Prior to her retirement in 2000, she worked for many years at Regency Thermographers, Waynesboro.
She enjoyed watching game shows, word searches, going shopping and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by two children, Bonnie L. Shockey (Ray) of Quincy and Tony W. Freeman of Greencastle; two grandchildren, Stephanie Doell (Trevor) and Savannah Freeman; two great-grandchildren, Brody and Chance; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her siblings, George Reed, Anna Sanders, Ralph Reed, Carrie Mae Reed, Jane Kesselring, Dick Reed, Charles Reed, James Reed and O. Lewis Reed.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 12, 2024 in Mount Zion Cemetery, Mount Zion Road, Quincy, PA with Pastor Greg Helman officiating.
There will be no public viewing.
