Constance Wilkins, born December 15, 1938, in Chambersburg, passed away surrounded by the love of her family. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose life was marked by her passion for music, her faith, and her deep commitment to those she loved.

She is survived by her two daughters, Melissa (Doug) Sawyer and Melody (Curtis) Reedy; one granddaughter, Ashley Peters; three grandsons, Matthew Bowman, Christopher (Jordan) Bowman, and Eric Reedy; five great-grandsons; and her sisters, Peggy McCrossen and Patt Wheelock.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Beatrice and John Cromwell; her beloved husband, Richard Wilkins; and her sister, Lisa Shupp.

Constance graduated from Chambersburg High School in 1956 and went on to attend Lebanon Valley College, where she earned her degree in Music Education in 1960. Her love of music shaped much of her life. She shared her talent generously, serving for many years as the children’s choir director and pianist at First Evangelical Lutheran Church. She also taught piano lessons from her home, inspiring generations of students with her patience and passion.

In addition to her work in music, Constance was employed for many years at Ingram Book Company, where she built lasting friendships before retiring in 2016.

She found great joy in simple pleasures, especially her love of football. She was a dedicated fan of the Crimson Tide and the Pittsburgh Steelers, rarely missing a game and always cheering with enthusiasm.

Constance will be remembered for her kindness, her steady faith, her musical gifts, and the love she poured into her family and community. her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
A Memorial service will be held 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 16, 2026 at Sellers Funeral Home with Rev. Jane Nicholson officiating. Burial will be in Lincoln Cemetery.
