Mrs. Clara (Egidi) Ritacco, 95, of Greencastle, PA, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2024, in Chambersburg hospital, Chambersburg, PA.

Born April 24, 1929, in Monessen, PA, she was the daughter of the late Marco and Ida (Leonetti) Egidi.

Clara graduated from Monessen High School with the class of 1947.

She and her husband, the late Leopold F. “Leo” Ritacco were married August 10, 1947, in Monessen. They enjoyed 62 years together before Leo passed away April 19, 2008.

Clara spent her days as a homemaker, taking care of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, Greencastle, was a member of St. Mark Women Organization and St. Mark Bowling Legue, TOPS in Stateline, PA, and was a life member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary Post #6319. She was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Clara is survived by her two daughters Linda E. Miller (Greg), and Eileen M. Strausner (Eric) both of Greencastle; 6 grandchildren, Michelle E. Hummer (Cory), of Greencastle, Mark G. Miller (Hillary), of Greencastle, Erica M. Ernst (Jeremy), of Mechanicsburg, PA, Evan J. Strausner (Hannah), of Greencastle, Ross G. Miller (Amanda), of Red Lion, PA, and Emily M. Strausner of Mechanicsburg; 12 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 5 brothers, Armond Egidi, Morgan Egidi, Richard Egidi, Victor Egidi, and Marco Egidi Jr.

A Mass of Christian burial will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Friday, August 16, 2024, at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 385 S. Ridge Avenue, Greencastle, PA celebrated by Rev. Augusty Valomchalil. Interment will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle, PA.

The family will receive friends from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M., Friday morning in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington Street, Greencastle, PA.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church, 385 S. Ridge Avenue, Greencastle, PA 17225.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to all the staff, nurses, and caregivers at Heritage Hills Retirement Home for the love and support they offered to Clara and her family during her time spent there.
