Mrs. Chong Ye Callahan, 77, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025 in Hershey Medical Center following a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born June 21, 1948 in Seoul, Korea and was the wife of the late John Patrick Callahan who passed away August 31, 2011.
Mrs. Callahan was a dedicated business owner for 35 years. She operated a successful international food store along with a food manufacturing company that specialized in Asian products. For many years, she owned and operated Imported Food and Gifts in Blue Ridge Summit, where she shared her culture and heritage with the local community. She retired in February 2023.
She was a founding member and deacon of Waynesboro Korean Baptist Church.
Mrs. Callahan leaves behind two children, Susan Callahan and Patrick Callahan, both of Waynesboro; eight grandchildren, Shanelle of Washington DC, Kylilia and Nyla, both of York, PA and Soo-Jin, Patrick, Jr., Aaliyah, Omar and Ace, all of Waynesboro; six step-grandchildren; her niece, Mee-Suk of New Jersey along with her daughters, Rebecca and Katie; three sisters and one brother, all of Seoul, Korea; and a host of extended family and friends.
A service to honor her life will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be private in Antietam Cemetery, Waynesboro.
