Mr. Charles Franklin Thomas, 79, of Hancock, and formerly of Hagerstown, died Thursday morning, August 13, 2020, at his son’s residence. He was the husband of the late Mrs. Vedeania Beverly “Dee” Thomas, his wife of 49 years, who died February 17, 2018.
Born July 28, 1941, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Benjamin Franklin and Inez Higgs Thomas.
Charles worked was employed with Bonded Applicators Roofing Company, Hagerstown.
Surviving are his children, Dwayne L. Schlotterbeck and wife Robin of Hancock, and Kimberly K. and Rafe A. Thomas, both of Hagerstown; and by fourteen grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit the Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, 40 East Antietam Street, Hagerstown on Monday, August 17, from 2:00 to 7:00 PM. A service will be held graveside at Rose Hill Cemetery, 600 South Potomac Street, Hagerstown, on Tuesday, August 18, at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Dr. William A. Miller officiating. Those attending the service should gather inside the main gate of Rose Hill Cemetery for a procession to the grave site just prior to the service beginning.
