Mr. Charles Edward Manahan, 72, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026 in his home surrounded by family.

Born August 1, 1953 in Gettysburg, PA, he was the son of the late Marshall and Evelyn (Koontz) Manahan. He grew up in the Emmitsburg and Sabillasville, MD areas.

He and his wife, the late Mrs. Barbara S. (Stauffer) Manahan, were married December 24, 1979 in Hagerstown, MD. They shared 35 years together before she passed away November 24, 2014.

Mr. Manahan was employed by Western Auto and dedicated a number of years to driving truck from coast to coast. Prior to his retirement in 2020, he worked for Waste Management, as a diesel mechanic, for a number of years.

He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles # 1758 of Waynesboro.

An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting mushrooms and spending time in the mountains. He also was a fan of the Denver Broncos and NASCAR Racing. Most of all, he treasured time spent with family.

Mr. Manahan is survived by five children, Lutina Nicole Manahan (Ken B.) and Candida Estrada, both of Waynesboro, Michael Manahan (Mercedes) of Virginia and Charles E. Manahan, II and Travis Manahan (Beth), both of Waynesboro; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; three sisters, Nancy Burns of Waynesboro, Linda Dietz of Carlisle, PA and Francis Kline of Sabillasville; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by an infant great-granddaughter; sister, Shirley Koontz; and two brothers, John David Manahan and infant James Manahan.

Services will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 27, 2026 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro.  Burial will follow in Harbaugh Cemetery, near Rouzerville, PA.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, Friday afternoon, in the funeral home.
