Mrs. Catherine Ruth “Cathy” (Cassner) Bowers, 70, of Fayetteville, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, April 13, 2026, following a courageous 16-month battle with cancer.
Born on May 4, 1955, in Chambersburg, Pennsylvania, Cathy was the beloved daughter of the late William and Isabel (Cordell) Cassner.
A 1973 graduate of Chambersburg High School, Cathy began her working career at The Stanley Company in Chambersburg and later was employed at Hoffman Mills in Shippensburg.
In 1994, she married the love of her life, Roy G. Bowers, in Chambersburg. Together, they shared many years of companionship and devotion.
After retiring, Cathy found great joy in life’s simple pleasures. She was an avid bingo player and could often be found enjoying games at the Fayetteville Volunteer Fire Department, Franklin Fire Department, and Waynesboro Fish & Game. She cherished spending time with her daughter, Ashley, especially during their shopping trips together that often lasted for hours. Cathy also enjoyed relaxing with puzzle books and treating herself to her favorite Caramel Frappuccino’s.
Cathy will be remembered for her easygoing nature, her gift for conversation, and her ability to make friends wherever she went. Her generous spirit and kind heart touched the lives of many.
In addition to her loving husband, Roy, she is survived by her daughter, Ashley M. Bowers of Fayetteville; two brothers, William Cassner of Lewistown and Harvie Cassner of Biglerville; as well as her nieces, Molly and Becca, and her nephew, Derek.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at Lincoln Cemetery in Chambersburg.
