Miss Catherine Pentz, 98, of Waynesboro, PA passed away Thursday morning, May 9, 2024, at Hearthstone Retirement Home, Waynesboro.

Born September 20, 1925 in Roadside, PA, she was the daughter of the late Daniel F. and Edna (Miner) Pentz. She lived most of her life in the Waynesboro area.

She graduated from Washington Township High School with the Class of 1944. She later graduated from Central Bible Institute in Springfield, MO in 1950 and earned her Associates Degree in Accounting from Penn State Mont Alto in 1971.

In her early life, Catherine worked at Landis Machine Company and for A.J. Gardenour. She later worked for over 26 years at Grove Manufacturing, Shady Grove, PA, as a payroll supervisor. She retired in 1991.

She was a member of Calvary Assembly of God, Waynesboro, where she was an active supporter of missions work.

Catherine was an avid golfer, who enjoyed attending Hurley auctions and spending time with her family.

She is survived by one brother, George Pentz of Waynesboro; one sister, Mary Coldsmith of Chambersburg; her niece and caregiver, Jane Fleagle of Waynesboro; and 71 additional nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, June P. Wolff; and five brothers, Merle Pentz, Clint Pentz, Croft Pentz, Robert Pentz and John Pentz.

Services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 18, 2024 in Calvary Assembly of God, 116 Snider Ave., Waynesboro, PA with Rev. Dwan Newsome officiating. Burial will follow in Leitersburg Lutheran Church Cemetery, Leitersburg, MD.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Saturday morning, in the church.
