Catherine Ella Wiles, 88, of Chambersburg, PA, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Menno Haven Brookview Healthcare Center. She was born on December 23, 1937, in Chambersburg, PA to the late John and Rachel (Wingert) Wiles.
Catherine began at South Hamilton School and then completed grade school at Duffield School. She then graduated from Chambersburg High School in 1955. After graduation, Catherine went on to work for Menno Haven in the dietary department for several years. She was a member of New Guilford Brethren in Christ Church where she taught Sunday school for many years. In her free time, she enjoyed quilting and sewing comforts for the needy.
She is survived by 4 sisters Esther Menges of Spring Grove, PA; Anna Smith of Montana; Ardith Byers of Indiana; Martha Bricker of Chambersburg, PA; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by two sisters Gladys Elizabeth and Bertha Caufman.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, August 24, 2026, at 11:00 AM at New Guilford Brethren in Christ Church, 1575 Mont Alto Road, Chambersburg, PA 17202 with Pastor Lawton Jacobs officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday, from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM at the church. Burial will take place at 2:00 PM in Air Hill Brethren in Christ Cemetery, 7041 Cumberland Highway, Chambersburg, PA 17202.
