Casey Michael Campbell, 69, of Chambersburg, PA passed away unexpectedly on July 31, 2026, just four days before his 70th birthday.
Born on August 4, 1956, in Tillamook, Oregon, Casey was the son of the late Graydon M. “Jim” and Betty E. (Mowery) Campbell.
He was a graduate of Hampton High School in Allison Park, PA, Class of 1974, and Shippensburg University, Class of 1980.
Casey then spent 37 years working in correctional institutions across the State of Maryland. He was a true public servant who showed dignity and respect to every person he crossed paths with.
Casey found peace by the water and in the woods. An avid swimmer for all of his life, he swam competitively at both the University of Maryland and Shippensburg University. In 2012, he was inducted into the Hampton Township School District’s Athletic Hall of Fame for his swimming accomplishments. He coached swimming for countless children, primarily at the Waynesboro and Chambersburg YMCAs, and later in life, he proudly taught his grandchildren how to swim. As a young man, Casey became involved in hunting and found solace in the quiet woods. He involved his children so deeply in hunting that it is hard to imagine a hunting camp without him there.
He loved his wife and family, led with honor, and always had his faith. He was the lynchpin of the family and will be greatly missed.
Casey is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Susan Lynn (Tresler) Campbell. He is also survived by his three children: Andrew (Staci) Campbell of Chambersburg, PA; Daniel (Jacqueline) Campbell of Carlisle, PA; and Emily Campbell of Waynesboro, PA, as well as his six grandchildren, who he adored: Gwendolyn, Everett, Levi, Hannah, Molly, & Leah.
In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his four sisters: Susan, Penny (Jim), Bonnie, and Betty Ellen (Frank). He was predeceased by his brothers, Graydon and Scott.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M., Friday, August 7, 2026, in Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle. Burial will follow in Beautiful View Cemetery, State Line, MD.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M., Thursday evening in the funeral home, and again one hour prior to the services Friday morning.
