Carroll B. Sprenkle, better known as “C. B.”, age 78, of St. Thomas, PA passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026, at the Chambersburg Hospital surrounded by his family. Born August 3, 1947, in Waynesboro, PA, he was the son of the late Daniel Q. and Catherine Bender Sprenkle.
Mr. Sprenkle was a 1965 graduate of CASHS. He farmed and raised animals most of his life. Early in his career, he worked in insurance, apprenticed at Frick Company, worked as an Assistant Service Manager at the former Hal Lowery Ford, drove for Gabler Trucking, Inc. and then retired as a truck driver from Valley Quarries.
He attended St. James United Brethren, Chambersburg Bible, and Grand Point Churches. He was a member of the Cumberland Valley Antique Engine and Machinery Association, and the Franklin County Tractor Pullers Association.
Mr. Sprenkle’s pride was his family and his farm. He enjoyed pulling his John Deere 720, antiques, his faith, and his animals, especially, Roxy Butterfly, Sonny Boy, Bunny Boy, and Ruby.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Nancy J. Weller Sprenkle; two daughters, Tanya Jo Forrester (husband Cory) of Shippensburg, PA and Catherine “Cathy” Jean Perez of St. Thomas, PA; three grandchildren, Cole and Chelcie Jo Forrester and Trey Perez; siblings, Ned Sprenkle (Peggy Thompson) and Mary Beth Long (husband Gary); and a sister-in-law, Esther Sprenkle. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Fred and Jimmy Sprenkle.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 20, 2026, at 11 AM in the chapel of Thomas L. Geisel Funeral Home, Inc., 333 Falling Spring Rd., Chambersburg, PA, where Rev. Harold Yeager will officiate. The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 19 from 6-8 PM and on Monday, July 20 one hour prior to the service in the funeral home. Interment will follow the service in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, and a luncheon will be held at Greenvillage Church of God.
