Mrs. Beverly M. “Bev” “Shmum” “Shmamaw” (Eakle) Baer, 70, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024, in the Chambersburg hospital, Chambersburg, PA.
Born May 17, 1954 in Waynesboro, she was the daughter of the late Harold E. “Pap” and Flo E. (Bakner) “Nan” Eakle.
Bev was a graduate of Greencastle Antrim Senior High School, Greencastle, PA, with the class of 1972.
She and her husband, the late Charles O. Baer, Jr., were married March 30, 1984 in Hagerstown, MD. They enjoyed 30 years of marriage together before Mr. Baer passed away in October, 2014.
Bev worked in various sewing factories in her early years and later worked in retail.
She enjoyed passing time by working on puzzle books, watching the Game Show Network and The Food Network, and playing bingo. She also got great joy out of spending time with her family.
Bev is survived by her three children, Christopher D. “Chris” Eakle, of Waynesboro, Aaron M. “Airy Michael” Baer and his wife Kayla of Waynesboro, and Taylor A. “Tater Bug” Baer and his fiancé Wendy “Pans” of Waynesboro; grandchildren, Ely W. Baer, Kohl M. Baer, and Liam H. Baer; siblings, Cassandra J. “Cassie” Faith, of Mercersburg, PA, and Jeffrey E. “Jeff” Eakle, Sr., of Gettysburg, PA.
She was preceded in death by her husband and parents.
It was at her request to have no public viewing or funeral. A memorial service will be held at a later time at the convenience of the family to celebrate her life. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
