Mrs. Barbara Ann (Ringer) Niedentohl, 85, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Thursday, April 9, 2026 in WellSpan Waynesboro Hospital.

Born April 29, 1940 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Earl and Anna Wilhelmina (Schmitz) Ringer. She lived most of her life in the Waynesboro area.

She was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School, Emmitsburg, MD with the Class of 1958. She later received her LPN degree in 1973 from Franklin County Vo-Tech, Chambersburg, PA.

She and her husband, the late Jerry Milton Niedentohl, were married October 10, 1959 in St. Andrew Catholic Church, Waynesboro. They had lived at their present residence since 1969. Mr. Niedentohl passed away December 17, 2008.

Mrs. Niedentohl was employed at Waynesboro Hospital, beginning as a nurse’s aide and later working as an LPN. She later worked as an EMT and then was an LPN at South Mountain Restoration Center. In 1983, she opened “Pampered Pets” in her home and became a self-employed pet groomer.

She is a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church, Waynesboro and was active with Antietam Humane Society, Waynesboro, where she served as secretary for six years.

Mrs. Niedentohl is survived by two children, Linda Sue Collins and her husband, Terry of Shippensburg, PA and Jeffrey Michael Niedentohl and his wife, Stacey of Chambersburg, PA; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two siblings, Jean A. Fleagle and her husband, Walter of Waynesboro and Mary Lou White and her husband, Rudy of Ringwood, NJ; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph Richard Ringer, Daniel Henry Ringer, James Earl Ringer and John William Ringer.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Friday evening, April 17, 2026, in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro, PA. Burial and religious services will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions made be made to: St. Andrew Catholic Church, 12 N. Broad St., Waynesboro PA 17268 or Antietam Humane Society, 8513 Lyons Road, Waynesboro PA 17268.
