Mrs. Barbara Ann (Byers) Rexrode, 74, of Fayetteville, PA passed away Wednesday morning, January 1, 2025, in the Chambersburg Hospital.
Born January 9, 1950 in Waynesboro, PA, she was the daughter of the late Claude J. Byers, Sr. and Ethel P. (Martin) Byers.
She and her husband of over 56 years, Steven W. Rexrode, were married on December 22, 1968 in Hagerstown, MD.
Barb worked at the South Mountain Restoration Center, as an aide, for over 34 years. She retired in 2004.
She was a member of Joe Stickell American Legion Post #15 Ladies Auxiliary, Adams County Fish and Game and Eagles Club, Inc., Waynesboro.
Barb enjoyed gardening, flowers, camping, playing bingo, being with her dog, Max and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two children, Stacy Blizzard (Bob) of Waynesboro and Richard Rexrode (Diane) of Waynesboro; four grandchildren, Benjamin Blizzard, Colby Blizzard, Sierra Smith, and Shelby Rexrode; nine great-grandchildren, Wyatt, Carter, Kaylee, Bella, Markel, Ella-Mae, Abi, Colton and Annebelle; two brothers, Claude Byers, Jr. of Waynesboro and Ronald Byers of Mont Alto, PA; three sisters, Gloria Carbaugh of Waynesboro, Jean Umbrel of Abbottstown, PA and Dorine Spangler of Hagerstown; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Byers.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday, January 8, 2025 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Mr. Henry Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Strang’s Cemetery, South Mountain, PA.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M., Tuesday evening, and one hour prior to the service, Wednesday morning, in the funeral home.
