Dora Yates, age 83 of Greencastle, PA was welcomed into her heavenly home on Monday, June 15, 2026, with grace, love and family surrounding her at home.

Dora was born in Charles Town, WV on January 25, 1943. She was the only daughter of the late Stancey Cotta and Beatrice Cotta (Peacher).

She was married to her husband Gary C. Yates of Shepherd, MI for 63 years. They have an ever-expanding family of 5 children(spouses) Kimberly (Roger), Tony II (Anne), Chris (Galia), Christian (Antoinette) and Kourtney (Brad). They have12 grandchildren Chris, Brandy, Tony III, Cody, Jessica, Milani, Nick, Ben, Charlie, Aria, Michaela and Hayden. They have 10 great-grandchildren. All of whom held a cherished place in her heart.

She was a talented homemaker and tireless worker who alongside her husband was a true steward of their family farm. She was a steadfast partner both in private life and business; standing beside her husband with unwavering commitment.

Dora enjoyed being outside, finding enjoyment with each season. She embraced long walks outdoors, always willing to go for a stroll. She enjoyed tending to her beautiful flower and vegetable gardens; she always had the ability to harvest a bounty. Through her kitchen, she touched many lives. Creating memories that will endure in the hearts of those who loved her. She lived a life rooted in faith and kindness to others; inspiring those around her with her faithful devotion to her Lord and Savior as well as to her family.

In mourning, her loving family is grateful as their lives were made brighter because of her presence. They are comforted by the countless ways Dora’s legacy continues to live on in the memories she blessed them with. A private memorial service and celebration of life will be held to honor Dora’s faith, family and enduring legacy.
