Mr. Arthur W. “Bill” Biesecker, 92, of Waynesboro, PA, passed away Tuesday, August 18, 2026 in Chambersburg Skilled Nursing & Rehab.
Born September 5, 1933, in Chambersburg, he was the son of the late Arthur S. and Mildred (Carmack) Biesecker.
A veteran of the Korean Conflict, he served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1953 until 1955.
He and his wife, the late Lois E. (Sentz) Biesecker were married March 7, 1953 in Hagerstown, MD. They enjoyed 57 years of marriage together before Mrs. Biesecker passed away July 8, 2010.
Mr. Biesecker worked as a heating and cooling technician for Thompson Oil Company, Waynesboro for over 55 years, retiring in 2010.
A member of Grace Batist Church, he volunteered countless hours each year to creating the many props and sets for the Bible school program. A life member of the Waynesboro Fire Department, he served as Assistant Fire Chief for a number of years and was the director of the annual minstrel show for 20 years. He also was a member of National AARP.
In his spare time, he enjoyed woodworking having crafted numerous benches for local community fundraisers including the Waynesboro Cancer Auction each year. He served as a coach and umpire for Little League and Pony League Baseball for many years and delivered Meals on Wheels to residents of the Waynesboro community. He also loved feeding his animals at home.
He is survived by his three children, Michael K. Biesecker of Waynesboro, Julie A. Kane of Shepherdstown, WV, and Tena M. Shew of Waynesboro; six granddaughters, Ginette, Nikki, Kristin, Abby, Olivia and Micki; 6 great-grandchildren, Alex, Drew, Ellie, Ace, Aven, Kierra; his siblings, Robert Biesecker and Doris Heefner, both of Waynesboro, Jack Biesecker of Chambersburg and Richard Biesecker, Trudy Fessler, Gene Biesecker, Henry Biesecker and JoAnn Stull all of Waynesboro; and many nieces and nephews, as well as a host of extended family and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Cole.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, August 24, 2026 in Grace Baptist Church, 623 N. Grant St. Ext, Waynesboro with Mr. Jeffrey Noll and Mr. John Noll officiating. Burial will follow in Parklawns Memorial Gardens, Chambersburg where graveside honors will be conducted by Charles Nitterhouse VFW Post #1599, Chambersburg.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church.
