Mrs. Alverna (Kauffman) Bricker, 93, of South Mountain, PA passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025, in Laurel Lakes Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Chambersburg, PA.
Born April 28, 1932 in South Mountain, she was the daughter of the late James W. and Hazel R. (Baker) Kauffman. She was a lifelong resident of the South Mountain area.
She and her husband, the late Theodore Bricker, Sr., were married on January 15, 1949 in Hagerstown, MD. Mr. Bricker died on November 24, 1979.
Mrs. Bricker worked in the laundry department for the South Mountain Restoration Center for over 43 years. She retired in 1995. She later worked part time at Piney Mountain Nursing Home, Fayetteville, PA and Michaux Manor Assisted Living Center, South Mountain.
She was a member of the National AARP and enjoyed baby-sitting.
She is survived by one daughter, Donna K. Simpson of Fayetteville; one son, Theodore Bricker, Jr. of South Mountain; 5 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She was the last of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her great-grandson, Todd Freeman; one sister, Leoda Kauffman; and three brothers, Donald Kauffman, Joe Lee Kauffman and Darrell Kauffman.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, November 14, 2025 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Pastor Colin Morley officiating. Burial will follow in Strang’s Cemetery, South Mountain.
The family will receive friends 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday in the funeral home.
Everyone is encouraged to wear green in honor of Alverna.
