Mrs. Alice S. (Talbott) Galbraith,98, a resident of Providence Place, Chambersburg and formerly of Old Forge Road, Waynesboro, PA, passed away Wednesday, May 1, 2024, in the retirement home.
Born December 5, 1925 in Carroll County, MD, she was the daughter of the late Henrietta A. (Snader) and Edwin W. Talbott. She lived her early life in Carroll County.
She was a graduate of New Windsor High School with the Class of 1943. Prior to graduation, she worked part time at Reed’s Drug Store in Westminster, MD. After graduation, she went into nurses training at Maryland University Hospital in Baltimore. She married George H. Neal in 1945. He died April 12, 1956. She married Martin Seymore in 1960. He passed away June 13, 2001. On February 14, 2002, she married Charles E. Galbraith. Mr. Galbraith died on October 19, 2023. She worked most of her life at the Waynesboro Knitting Mill until 1960, then Moore’s Lumber Company, Bell Telephone Co. in Harrisburg and Ames Department Store in Waynesboro.
She was a member of Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waynesboro.
She is survived by one son, George H. Neal, Jr.; one granddaughter, Shelley Abrashoff; one grandson, Andrew Neal; her great-granddaughter, Alison; her great-grandson, Steve George; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Bernice Beard, Jane Taylor and Jean Swope.
Services will be held at 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 8, 2024 in Grove-Bowersox Funeral Home, 50 S. Broad St., Waynesboro with Chaplain Rick Ritenour officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hill Cemetery, Waynesboro.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services, Wednesday morning, in the funeral home.
