Mr. Albert Donald Kridler, Jr., of Rock Willow Avenue, Hagerstown, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2011, at MNS Nursing Facility.



Born on September 18, 1943, in Hagerstown, he was the son of the late Albert Donald, Sr., and Anna Louise Longnecker Kridler.



He was of the protestant faith; and member of First Christian Church.



Donnie graduated North Hagerstown High School in 1961, worked for the Doubleday Company; then served in the US Army’s 5671

Signal Company, Eighth Army, in Korea during the Vietnam War.



He later worked for Pangborn Corporation, and finally Certain Teed Corporation where he retired after more than 20 years of service.



Donnie is survived by his cousin and caregiver, Dr. David Foltz of Sharpsburg; and close friends and caregivers Constance Quinn and Joseph Sember, both of Greencastle, Pennsylvania; as well as his beloved dog Matilda for whom he held great affection.



His cousin and friends wish to express their appreciation on Donnie’s behalf to the doctors, nurses and staff of Emeritus at Hagerstown, MNS and Meritus Medical Center for their kindness and concern over the last years of his life.


Additionally, his caregivers were very grateful to neighbors Kate Oyler, James Harris, and Penny and Bob Richardson for providing much needed help and assistance during the trying time at the end of his life.



Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Constance, who died in 1970; as well as fondly remembered family pets Mugsey, Duke, Max and Dudley.



The Andrew K. Coffman Funeral Home, Hagerstown, is handling the arrangements.


There will not be calling at the funeral home.


Services and inurnment will be private.
