A new service offered by LocalNews1 lets you track what is happening on the street where you live or the one where you dream of living someday.
A searchable database of deed transfers in Franklin County, Pennsylvania, and Washington County, Maryland, can be found at localnews1.org/deed-transfers.
The database of deed transfers serves as a one-stop shop to answer questions about who owns a property, who sold a property and who is taking ownership of the property. It serves as the easiest and quickest way to learn about property changes in your own community.
Visitors to the page should anticipate monthly updates of raw data.
LocalNews1 President Dan DeDona said he anticipates the service will be used by developers, people concerned about development and those who track sales for their business practices.
“Whatever one’s motivation, we’re making the data available,” he said.
Counties are required to provide deed transfer information as part of public record. However, DeDona hopes the database makes tracking sales much simpler and user-friendly.
