HAGERSTOWN, Md. — Downtown Hagerstown’s midweek concert series continues this week as MDWK Music & Market returns Wednesday, July 29, bringing live bluegrass music, local vendors and a beer garden to University Plaza.
The free event will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. at 50 W. Washington St., offering residents and visitors a chance to enjoy live entertainment and regional artisans in the heart of the city.
Featured this week is the Stoney Creek Bluegrass Band, a West Virginia-based group known for its traditional Appalachian sound. Led by vocalist Libby Files, the band blends original material with classic bluegrass standards, highlighting gospel harmonies and front-porch-style picking that reflect rural musical traditions.
Organizers describe MDWK — short for “midweek” — Music & Market as a cornerstone of Downtown Hagerstown’s summer programming. The weekly series runs Wednesdays from July 15 through late August and includes a rotating lineup of live performers, food vendors and artisan goods.
The event is a collaboration between Downtown Hagerstown Main Street, the city’s Arts & Entertainment District and The Outsiders Social, a local organization helping curate a mix of vintage and handcrafted vendors.
In addition to music and shopping, attendees can visit the beer garden hosted by Hub City Brewery, one of downtown’s newest attractions.
Admission is free and open to the public.
