Residents of Adams and Franklin counties are invited to showcase the people, places and moments that define their communities through a new monthly photo contest announced by Sen. Doug Mastriano.
The “Photo of the Month” contest encourages participants to submit images capturing the character and beauty of the region, from scenic landscapes and historic landmarks to community events, family farms and everyday life.
Mastriano said the initiative aims to celebrate the unique qualities that make the two counties special.
“Our communities are filled with incredible people and unforgettable moments,” Mastriano said. “This contest is an opportunity to highlight the pride and spirit that define Adams and Franklin counties.”
Each month, Mastriano will review submissions and select a winning photo. The selected image will be featured on his official social media platforms, and the photographer will receive public recognition.
Photos may be submitted through an online entry form available on Sen. Mastriano’s website.
Participants must be at least 18 years old and either own the rights to their submitted photo or have permission from the copyright holder. By entering, participants grant the Pennsylvania Senate a royalty-free, nonexclusive, irrevocable license to use the images in print and digital formats.
Submissions are accepted without compensation, and entrants agree to allow their names to be published alongside their work. Photographers must also obtain written consent from any identifiable individuals appearing in their photos.
The contest includes standard liability provisions, requiring participants to indemnify the Pennsylvania Senate against claims related to copyright or privacy violations.
Mastriano said the contest is intended to foster community pride while offering residents a platform to share meaningful images.
“This is about telling the story of our communities through the eyes of the people who live here,” he said.
