HAGERSTOWN, Md. — The Maryland Food Bank’s Hagerstown branch will receive 200 hams this spring as part of a larger donation from The GIANT Company, which provided 3,000 hams to 14 hunger relief organizations in the region.
The donation aims to provide families with a source of protein during the spring season, a time when many households face increased food insecurity. The hams will be distributed to families in need across Washington County and neighboring communities.
“At the Maryland Food Bank, we know how meaningful a hearty meal can be for families facing tough times,” said a spokesperson for the Hagerstown branch. “We’re incredibly grateful to The GIANT Company for helping bring nutritious, celebratory meals to the tables of our neighbors who need them most.”
The GIANT Company, known locally as GIANT and MARTIN’S, continues to support hunger relief efforts through both donations and volunteer service. Company associates are expected to assist local food banks, including the Hagerstown facility, by helping restock shelves and organize donated goods in the coming weeks.
Customers can also help by donating their free ham certificates at checkout through April 5, 2026. For details on how to participate, visit giantfoodstores.com/pages/free-ham.
