LuHowl to raise money from Washington County Humane Society

HAGERSTOWN – The Humane Society of Washington County is gearing up for one of its most beloved annual traditions, LuHowl, a lively fundraiser bringing together food, music and community spirit, all in support of local animals in need.

Sponsored by the Holzapfel Group at Morgan Stanley, RBC Wealth Management, CNB Bank, Younger Toyota, R. Bruce Carson Jewelers, Smith Elliott Kearns, and First United Bank and Trust, this year’s event will be held on June 7 at Don and Mary Bowman’s historic Milestone Farm and will raise essential funds for the Humane Society’s spay and neuter program, which plays a critical role in reducing pet overpopulation in Washington County.

Those who attend the LuHowl can look forward to a fun evening filled with live music by Island Breeze and a delicious meal from Tara’s Table. Tickets are available for $50 per person through the Humane Society’s website, with the cost covering food, an open bar, live entertainment and access to Don Bowman’s car museum tours.

To add to the excitement, the event will also offer raffles, a silent auction and a gemstone dig sponsored by R. Bruce Carson Jewelers. For those unable to attend in person, the Humane Society has arranged a virtual raffle and other giving opportunities through their website. Supporters can also explore the Faithful Friends Club, a program that allows individuals to make ongoing contributions to help local animals year-round.

When asked what makes LuHowl special, Julie Draper explained, “It’s a success because of how the community comes together.”

Draper shared that her personal favorite part of the evening is “getting together, talking with supporters and meeting them.”

Above all, she hopes the event leaves people feeling good and motivated to give back. “I hope that they have a really good time, enjoy themselves, and even feel inspired to help in their community,” she added.

All of the proceeds from LuHowl go directly to the Humane Society’s spay/neuter program, ensuring every donation makes a difference.

With the support of generous local sponsors and a dedicated group of animal lovers, LuHowl continues to be a heartwarming example of what can happen when a community comes together for a cause that matters.
