School districts throughout Franklin and Adams counties will share in a $565 million state allocation designed to equalize funding among districts. The state in the past three years has distributed $1.6 billion in a formula developed after a Commonwealth Court found existing funding left some districts unfairly funded.
Locally, the Chambersburg Area School District was allocated $5.1 million, while the Waynesboro Area School District will receive $2.7 million. Greencastle-Antrim will see $1.6 million and Fairfield, $217,000.
