Laurich Meadows Street construction scheduled

CHAMBERSBURG – Please be advised that New Enterprise Stone and Lime Co. will soon begin street construction work at the Laurich Meadows residential development. The following streets will be reconstructed, Cosell Drive (Martina Drive to Martina Drive), Debrina Court to Suelinn Drive , Elrock Drive (Mill Road to Hollywell Avenue), Martina Drive (Hollywell Avenue to Elrock Drive), Overlea Court to Elrock Drive, Roseann Drive (Martina Drive to Martina Drive), Suelinn Drive (Cosell Drive to Martina Drive) and Wellslee Drive (Martina Drive to Martina Drive).

The work will involve Full Depth Reclamation, which recycles the existing soil and adds Portland cement to create a soil/concrete base that is overlaid with asphalt, as well as mill and overlay, which removes a layer of existing asphalt that is overlaid with an asphalt wearing course.

Construction activity will take place between 7:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Vehicle access on these streets will be restricted, with a New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co., Inc. flagging crew to properly direct vehicles through the construction site.

Parking will be prohibited at various times to allow the work to be done; however, Full Depth Reclamation creates a large amount of dust so vehicle owners are strongly encouraged to not park on the street at all while construction activity takes place.

Also, streets will remain open for local traffic only; however, they may be closed for short periods of time during certain phases of construction.

The Borough of Chambersburg and New Enterprise Stone & Lime Co. apologize in advance for this inconvenience and thank vehicle operators for your patience while street construction work takes place.

Please contact Charles Nipe, Director of Public Works, at 717-251-2496 or [email protected] with questions.
