Kramer appointed director of Washington County’s Office of Grant Management

HAGERSTOWN – The Washington County Board of County Commissioners has appointed Maria F. Kramer as the new director of the Office of Grant Management. Kramer brings extensive executive leadership experience and a proven track record in strategic planning, grant administration and operational management.

Kramer, a resident of Washington County for more than 30 years, has dedicated her career to organizational growth and community development. Most recently, she served as the CEO of the Hagerstown YMCA, where she managed a $5 million budget, oversaw 190 employees and collaborated with more than 200 volunteers. Her leadership resulted in increased membership satisfaction and innovative program growth.

Prior to her role as CEO, Ms. Kramer held positions with the YMCA of Frederick County, where she was instrumental in developing strategic plans, increasing youth program participation by 30 percent and elevating membership retention to impressive rates. She also played a critical role in implementing National Y Branding Standards and fostering partnerships with community organizations.

Kelcee Mace, chief financial officer for Washington County, expressed enthusiasm for Ms. Kramer’s appointment:

In her new role, Kramer will oversee the administration of federal, state and local grant funding, ensuring compliance and maximizing opportunities to support community initiatives and services.

Kramer shared her enthusiasm for the position: “Having lived in Washington County for over three decades, I am deeply committed to supporting its growth and prosperity. I am excited to contribute to the success of our community through effective grant management and strategic partnerships.”

Kramer is an avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys running, biking and hiking throughout Washington County. She is the proud mother of three grown children and grandmother to three grandchildren.
