HAGERSTOWN, Md. — With temperatures rising to the high 80’s and low 90’s in the region — summer is coming. Looking ahead to June, which is only a couple weeks away, the 2026 Almanack predicts hot days and a fair share of rain. Here is a look at what is coming in the month of June, including moon phases for the stargazers out there.

For the first two weeks of June, the region could expect “seasonably warm and dry at first, then scattered afternoon downpours.” Then the weather is to shift to cooler and dry before turning quite warm by the 15th following scattered showers and thunderstorms.
The last two weeks of the month are predicted to be “dry at first, then turning very hot and stormy.” Scattered storms throughout the remaining days of the month will cause a shift in temperatures from hot to tolerable.
The overall expectations of scattered storms mixed with days of dry heat are common this time of the year in the region. Most days of the month will be excellent for fishing, boating and trips to the beach and lake shores. Just be sure to have that umbrella handy in case a scattered storm passes through.
