Less than a week before the official beginning of spring, Hagerstown Community College held the 30th annual Alumni Flower and Garden Show on Saturday and Sunday March 14th and 15th. Not only is this one of the most highly anticipated events of the year, it also happens to be the best smelling! Floral scents filled HCC’s ARCC as hundreds of vendors set up their booths.

Thousands turned out as this showcase boasted enough vendors and markets to make a day out of the $5 admission fee. Though innumerable flower and gardening set ups could be found, there were also several food vendors, and other small, local businesses with booths inside the ARCC. Cultural dishes, pottery, handmade treasures, games and books too, this year’s Flower and Garden Show had something for everyone to enjoy.

This year’s theme, “Red, White, and Bloom” inspired the event’s aesthetics and featured products. From red, white and blue flowers, patriotic garden ornaments and Americana home decor, something new at every turn allowed hours of shopping in the rows of booths.

With Spring on the horizon, events like this are ramping up.
