HAGERSTOWN, Md. — The 2026 Almanack predicts November will bring cooler temperatures and even some flurries as the holiday season kicks off.
November moon phases
The Last Quarter moon of November was in the sky on Nov. 1. The New Moon phase will be completed on Nov. 9. The First Quarter moon will follow on Nov. 17, and the next Full Moon will illuminate the skies on Nov. 24.
Cooler temps, flurries?
Get the fire logs ready; November is set to bring in colder temperatures. The Almanack predicts warmer weather in the first week with chances of heavy rain beginning the week and cooler temperatures as the weekend comes. Break out the hoodies and jackets for week two, especially in the mornings and evenings.
The third week could bring more rain and even the first flurries of the season. Thanksgiving this year could be rainy and bring the first accumulation of snow as the weekend arrives.
The changes of the season
Much of the region bears the sight of the changing season. The colors of fall, the smell of burning leaves and the cool comforting breezes. In reference to fall, here is a quote from the Almanack.
“It is the time when we feel the change in the airmass, the leaves change color and drop off, and we can warm up with pumpkin spice coffee or cappuccino.”
