GREENCASTLE, Pa. – Seniors in Franklin County are invited to the Greencastle Senior Activity Center today for the Franklin County Senior Pantry Day, a community event offering free food and hygiene items to residents ages 60 and older.
The event will be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the center, located at 10615 Antrim Church Road in Greencastle. Sponsored by the Franklin County Area Agency on Aging, the event provides nonperishable food items, fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, and hygiene products at no cost to participants.
In addition to food boxes, winter coats will be available for seniors in need. Organizers emphasized that, due to grant funding requirements, only individuals age 60 and older are permitted inside the building. However, caregivers accompanying seniors are welcome.
The pantry day is part of the agency’s “Helping Hands and Caring Hearts” initiative to support older adults facing food insecurity and limited access to household essentials.
