GETTYSBURG, Pa. — Gettysburg Bike Week will feature its first professional drone show this summer as part of a milestone celebration for both the event and a longtime local business.
Organizers announced that the show, presented by Gettysburg Trading Post, will take place Friday, July 10, at the main stage at The Barn Resort, 75 Cunningham Road. The performance is scheduled between sets by The Funeral Portrait and Memphis May Fire.
The drone show is part of a dual anniversary celebration marking the nation’s 250th anniversary and the 25th anniversary of Gettysburg Trading Post.
Unlike traditional pyrotechnics, the aerial display will use coordinated drones and music to create illuminated formations in the night sky. Event organizers noted that the performance will not include fireworks. A separate fireworks show remains scheduled for Saturday, July 11.
Gettysburg Bike Week, one of the region’s largest motorcycle rallies, annually draws thousands of visitors for live music, vendors and entertainment. The addition of a drone show reflects a growing trend toward alternative visual displays that offer a different experience for audiences while reducing noise and environmental impact.
The Friday night performance is expected to serve as a centerpiece attraction during the multi-day event, adding a modern visual element to the festival’s lineup.
