Get Ready for Battle of the Minds

WAYNESBORO — The Rotary Club of Waynesboro is pleased to announce its co-sponsor for the 2023 Battle of the Minds – Mainstreet Waynesboro, Inc.

The 11th Battle of the Minds will occur on September 28, 2023 at Green Grove Gardens. The Battle puts local organization leaders and community members to the test! Attendees enjoy a dinner, silent and live auctions, compete in a big 50/50, and test their knowledge in the Battle game, all in the name of raising funds for local community-based endeavors.

“Battle of the Minds helps so many people in the area” said Chastity Wantz, Rotary Chair for the evening. “Co-sponsors received over $100,000 in the last decade. That helps local organizations who make us a better community”.

Waynesboro Rotarians and Mainstreet Waynesboro, Inc. invite everyone to purchase tickets, donate auction items, and join us for the decade-long running fundraiser. Information about how to obtain tickets, make donations, and explore event sponsorship opportunities can be found at battleoftheminds.org.

“Selecting an annual partner is the hardest part of the process,” said Derek Furry, president of the Rotary Club of Waynesboro for 2022/23. “Everyone is so deserving and well-qualified to join forces with our team.”

Rotary is a project-based organization. They were inspired to choose Mainstreet Waynesboro by the way funds raised will be applied to the popular “Market at the Park” farmers market in downtown Waynesboro. Bill Kohler, Mainstreet’s director of economic development, describes the open-air market as one of its most important resources.

“One of the biggest and most successful ways that Mainstreet Waynesboro has fulfilled its mission is through the very popular Market at the Park, a vibrant farmers and craftsperson’s market that attracts more than 10,000 people to the downtown between Memorial Day and the end of September each year,” Kohler said.

“We are honored to be selected as a partner with the Rotary Club,” Kohler said. “We look forward to a great event!”
