Geiser’s revolutionary threshing machine to be topic at upcoming presentation

WAYNESBORO, Pa. — The story of Peter Geiser and his threshing machine that revolutionized grain processing and spurred the industrial age of Waynesboro will be the topic of a presentation on Sept. 17 at the Waynesboro Industrial Museum. The event is open to the public.

Ian Dawson of the Smithsburg Historical Society will present Peter Geiser’s origins in Smithsburg 200 years ago, his perseverance to develop Geiser Manufacturing in Waynesboro, and his important work with Frank and Abe Landis and George Frick.

This event is being co-sponsored by the Waynesboro Historical Society and the Waynesboro Industrial Museum. The presentation will be held at the Waynesboro Industrial Museum at 235 Philadelphia Ave. at 6:30 p.m. on Sept. 17.
