CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Franklin County Career and Technology Center students earned national recognition earlier this month, bringing home gold medals from the SkillsUSA National Leadership and Skills Conference in Atlanta.

The winning team of Maya Holton, Logan Mohler and Quin Good captured first place in the STEM Career Pathways competition, representing Franklin County on the national stage against top students from across the country.

In addition, Braden Lehman earned top honors as a SkillsUSA national champion in the CTE Educator category, further highlighting the strength of the CareerTech program.

The conference, held June 1-5, drew more than 19,000 attendees and featured over 6,500 student competitors participating in 114 skilled and leadership contests. The annual event is considered the nation’s premier showcase of career and technical education excellence.

CareerTech students competing at nationals qualified through strong performances at the state level. The local delegation also included Adrienne Yocum, who competed in a job skills category within the land and horticulture pathway.

Advisors Steven Wilmot and Dave Perry accompanied the students, providing mentorship and guidance throughout the competition. School officials also credited families and additional mentors for supporting the students’ preparation and success.

The SkillsUSA Championships serve as the centerpiece of the conference, bringing together the nation’s most skilled career and technical students to demonstrate their abilities in real-world, hands-on competitions.

CareerTech leaders said the national victories reflect both the dedication of the students and the strength of Franklin County’s career and technical education programs.

“These accomplishments demonstrate the high level of skill, professionalism and commitment our students bring to their fields,” the school said in a statement. “We are incredibly proud of all of our competitors and medalists.”
