Franklin County Career and Technology Center students explore opportunities at Manitowoc Company

CHAMBERSBURG – Students from the Auto Collision and Mechatronics programs at Franklin County Career and Technology Center recently had the opportunity to visit their Workforce Sponsor, The Manitowoc Company. The field trip provided valuable insights into the world of crane manufacturing and the diverse career paths available in the industry.

During their visit, students were introduced to the impressive scale of Manitowoc’s operations, learning that the company’s reach extends far beyond Franklin County. They discovered that Manitowoc offers a wide range of global career opportunities, making it an attractive prospect for those seeking international work experience.

The students were particularly fascinated by what they described as “real-life Lego pieces” – the massive components that go into assembling Manitowoc’s renowned cranes. This hands-on experience gave them a tangible understanding of the complexity and precision involved in crane manufacturing.

Manitowoc representatives highlighted various career pathways available within the company, including industrial painting, industrial maintenance, welding, and manufacturing.
