FAYETTEVILLE, Pa. — The Franklin County Art Alliance opened its 54th annual exhibition on Sunday, June 7, with a reception and award ceremony at Calvary United Methodist Church.

Best of Show was awarded to James Barkley of Waynesboro, and over $3,000 worth of awards were distributed to artists from throughout the region. The show features over 300 works by more than 100 area artists and will remain on view through Thursday, June 11, from 2-7 p.m.

A wide variety of paintings, photographs, prints and sculptures by area artists were judged by Sarah Hall, executive director of the Washington County Museum of Fine Arts, and Margaret Yaukey, professor of art at Hagerstown Community College.  Door prizes will be awarded each day throughout the show, including original works by Alliance members such as last year’s Best of Show winner, Linda Best of Fort Loudon.

The public is welcome to attend. For more information, call 717-816-7568.
