Franklin commissioners to consider two crime grants totaling $234,000

CHAMBERSBURG – Franklin County Commissioners will consider two crime grants totaling $234,000 when they meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday. The meeting will be held in Room 824 of the County Administration Building, 272 N. Second St.

The first is an agreement between the county and Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency to provide the Children’s Advocacy Center of Franklin County $50,000 to support the need for continued services to Franklin County child abuse victims.

The second, totaling $184,475, is also from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency to enhance Crisis Intervention Team training through refresher training and a customized train-the-trainer program for trauma informed care. In addition, funding will be used to provide three two-day workshop trainings for local and surrounding communities’ 911 telecommunicators with a program called “Deadly Calls and Fatal Encounters.”

Meetings are also live streamed on Franklin County’s YouTube channel and at http://bit.ly/BOCCLiveStream at scheduled meeting times.
