WAYNESBORO, Pa. — The late summer/early fall schedule for Market at the Park has been posted by Mainstreet Waynesboro, Inc. The popular festivals held at Main Street Park bring food and entertainment together while helping establish strong community ties and promoting local businesses.

Bees, books, back to school highlight August

The first event of August will take place on Saturday, Aug. 8, and will celebrate the themes of Get Grilling Day and National Farmers Market Day. Bring your appetite for grilled treats and come support the local farms.

On Aug. 15, it is Back to School and Honey Bee Day at the park. Stop by to grab those last-minute back-to-school items while learning more about the raising of honeybees. Don’t forget to grab a bottle of locally produced honey.

Calling all readers for the Aug. 22 Book Lover Market! There will be books from every genre for kids and adults. The Alexander Hamilton Free Public Library will also be on site to share all the events taking place this fall at the library. There are still open vendor spots available for any local authors as well.

The final event of the month will be Self Care Saturday. This event will feature local businesses whose missions are to help others relax and promote self-care.

September features ‘kid’ vendors, first responders

On Sept. 5, it will be Kid Vendor Day. This event will feature vendors run by the young entrepreneurs from the area. It is a fun and unique experience and is a great way to help promote the region’s local youth.

On Sept. 12, the region will celebrate the hard-working men and women of their local first responder’s units. Meet and greets will be set up throughout the park where residents will get to visit with these heroes who often go unrecognized.

The final two events for September have yet to be determined.

All of the events at the Market at the Park will feature live entertainment from local performers, food and beverage trucks, and hundreds of vendors from around the region. They are a great way to start off the weekend while also helping to support local businesses and recognizing the people who strive to build the Waynesboro community.

Market at the Park takes place on most Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Main Street Park at 25 E. Main St.
