Everybody’s Brother rocks summer series

The Mainstreet Waynesboro Inc. Summer Concert Series lit up the night on Saturday, Aug. 30, with a high-energy performance by Everybody’s Brother, featuring the talented Jackson brothers of Waynesboro. The event, held from 7 to 9:30 p.m., drew a crowd of 200 music fans eager to hear the band’s nostalgic sound.

The Jackson brothers — twins Kenny and Denny, along with their brother Mike — formed Everybody’s Brother in the 1970s, playing local bars and events before embarking on a six-year Department of Defense tour across the United States. Kenny commands the drums, Denny shines on the keyboard, and Mike anchors the group on bass, with the trio remaining the band’s original members. Additional musicians joined them on stage, rounding out their dynamic sound.

The band delivered a crowd-pleasing setlist, blending hits from the late 1970s and 1980s by Earth, Wind & Fire and Chicago with contemporary favorites like Bruno Mars’ “Uptown Funk” and jazz selections. Their versatile performance kept the audience dancing and singing along.

Local businesses Rough Edges Brewing and Nancy Catering added to the festive atmosphere, providing food and drinks for attendees. The concert, a highlight of Waynesboro’s summer events, showcased the enduring talent of the Jackson brothers and their ability to connect with fans through decades of music.
