CASCADE, Md- Fort Ritchie Community Center’s Easter egg hunt brought hundreds of people together Saturday for a festive afternoon of family fun, candy and spring weather.
The event featured 10,000 eggs, and organizers said some of the eggs contained candy while others held slips of paper for prizes. Children were divided into age groups, with marked-off areas and announcements made when each group was allowed to begin picking up eggs.
Families also had a chance to take photos with the Easter Bunny, and the Antietam Dairy ice cream truck was on site for treats. The Washington County Health Department also attended, offering resources and programs.
The event was sponsored by SGI and the Rural Maryland Council. Clear skies and warm weather helped make the day a success, according to organizers.
