CHAMBERSBURG, Pa — Emergency crews responded Monday afternoon after an e-bike rider was seriously injured in a crash involving a tractor-trailer along U.S. Route 11.
According to Franklin Fire Company, the incident occurred around 4 p.m. near the Pit Stop convenience store along Philadelphia Avenue. Dispatch reports indicated a collision between a tractor-trailer and an electric bicycle.
Fire officials said the male rider of the e-bike collided with the tractor-trailer under circumstances that remain under investigation. First responders provided care at the scene before transporting the injured rider to a regional trauma center.
Authorities have not released the rider’s identity, and his condition was not available as of Tuesday morning.
Traffic in the area was impacted for a period while emergency personnel worked to clear the scene and assist the victim. Additional details, including the cause of the crash, have not yet been released.
