WAYNESBORO— Hundreds gathered in downtown Waynesboro for the third annual Paws 5K and Dogtoberfest, hosted by Rough Edges Brewing and Antietam Humane Society and held at Mainstreet Park from noon to 3 p.m. Saturday.
Rough Edges Brewing raised $9,940 for the Antietam Humane Society as part of the event, which featured the Paws 5K run and walk, beer tastings, live music, pet adoptions, and a doggie costume contest.
The “Ales for Tails” contest winner was Django Baumgardner, who will be featured on a limited-edition pilsner later this year. Diesel Kapfer placed second and Mack Durboraw finished third.
Sponsors included McConnellsburg Veterinary Clinic, Trident Enterprises, For the Love of Dogs LLC, and Corning Credit Union.
