CHAMBERSBURG, Pa. — Looking for a new friend? The Cumberland Valley Animal Shelter is featuring these Pets of the Week. For more information, interested adopters may visit cvas-pets.org or call 717-263-5791.
Prince Beethoven was recently returned to the shelter when his family could no longer care for him. He was adopted from CVAS as a puppy two years ago. He is a BIG boy weighing in at 145 pounds! Prince Beethoven is super sweet, but would do best in an adult only home or a home with teenaged children as he has not been around small children before. Per his previous owner he does like to chase cats, but with exposure and time he does eventually leave them alone and will get along with them. Prince Beethoven loves to get brushed and will need regular grooming and brushing to keep his long coat from getting matted, he does shed…A LOT, so potential adopters should be prepared for this. A knowledge of his breed would be best for potential adopters as well. Can you give this guy a second chance? CVAS, 5051 Letterkenny Road West, Chambersburg, PA, Kennel License #2090

Sally Mae arrived at the shelter in a humane trap. She is a sweet girl that does have some balance issues, but that certainly does not slow her down! We are not sure what the cause of her balance issues is as she does not display the characteristics of a Cerebellar Hypoplasia cat (or wobbly cat). She was checked over by a veterinarian, and it has been determined that while she has some balance issues, she is a happy, healthy girl. Sally Mae is a 5-year-old apricot, brown and white tabby who would love to find out what a forever home is all about!
