The Conococheague Institute is accepting nominations for prospective members of its Board of Directors through Sept. 16.
The organization is seeking community members who can offer fresh perspectives, professional skills and connections while supporting the institute’s mission and future work.
Current board members are Betsey Lillard, president; Sam Cathey, vice president; Bob Schwartz, secretary; Selena Feng, treasurer; Ellen Kinzer; Will Sheppard; Matt South; Derek Furry; Will Slater; David Ditto; and Barbara Onorato.
According to the institute, the board includes people with varied backgrounds, including anthropology, business, forestry, library services and community involvement. Board members provide leadership and help guide the organization’s growth through their experience, collaboration and commitment to the community.
The institute encouraged residents to nominate people who care about the community, bring new ideas, work well with others and are willing to contribute time and effort to strengthen the organization.
Prospective nominees do not need to be longtime members or insiders, the institute said. Individuals interested in serving may contact the Conococheague Institute by email, phone, in person or with a resume.
Voting is scheduled for the institute’s annual members meeting Oct. 10 during the 1776: Harvest on the Homestead event.
The nomination opportunity was announced by the Conococheague Institute in a recent social media post provided by the organization.
