GREENCASTLE, Pa. – The Waynesboro Area Cancer Auction has united the community to support Franklin County neighbors undergoing cancer treatment for the past 43 years.
“As we gear up for another successful year, we invite you to join us in making a difference,” said co-chairs Alison Huber and Kristyn Martin. “All Ages, All Stages, One Fight” is the theme of the auction, set for Saturday, March 28, in Green Grove Gardens, 1032 Buchanan Trail E. Doors open at 3 p.m., the silent auction starts at 4 p.m. and the live auction begins at 5:30 p.m. Tables are first come, first served, and food and beverages will be available. The auction is a “fun and casual event and no tickets are needed,” added Huber and Martin.
Since 1982, the auction has raised over $2.6 million, including a record-breaking $122,000 at last year’s event, supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Inc., Four Diamonds, Wellspan Oncology Bridge Fund, American Cancer Society to sponsor one room at the Hope Lodge Baltimore and one room at the Hope Lodge Philadelphia for an entire year, LiveStrong Chambersburg YMCA, Waynesboro YMCA Cancer Support Program, Cumberland Valley Breast Cancer Alliance and WACA Direct.
