Community Shows Appreciation for First Responders in Franklin County

CHAMBERSBURG – The Chambersburg community came together to show their appreciation for the tireless efforts of first responders in Franklin County. On Friday, volunteers delivered care packages filled with goodies like coffee, snacks, and energy drinks to 37 stations in Franklin County including Mercersburg, Shippensburg, Fannettsburg, Fayetteville, Greencastle, Blue Ridge Summit, Dry Run, Waynesboro, Mont Alto, Pleasant Hall, South Mountain and Chambersburg.

This initiative, dubbed First Responders Appreciation Day, was presented by Corning Credit Union and supported by a generous group of local businesses and residents.

Corning Credit Union served as the Hero Sponsor, while West Penn Power, RKL LLP, and American Safety CPR and First Aid stepped up as Patriot Sponsors. Contributor Sponsors included 1st Ed Credit Union, AMVETS Post 224, Brechbill & Helman Construction Co., Inc., Chambersburg Noontime Lions Club, Franklin County 11/30 Visitors Center, Grove Family Library, Jim’s Farmers Market, Johnnie’s Restaurant & Hotel Service, Kenny’s Grill & Ice Cream, King Street Church, Ludwick Eye Center, Meadows Frozen Custard of Chambersburg, Norland Avenue Pharmacy, LLC, Occupational Services, Inc., Providence Place Senior Living, Salzmann Hughes, P.C., Shalom Christian Academy, SunnyHill Properties Inc, The Butcher Shoppe, and Fast Ink, which provided the coffee.

The CVBA, a partnership between the Greater Chambersburg Chamber of Commerce and Greencastle-Antrim Chamber of Commerce, coordinated the event. CVBA Ambassadors and other volunteers braved the brisk December weather to deliver the care packages, spreading smiles and gratitude throughout the county.

First responders play a vital role in our communities, keeping us safe and responding to our needs in times of crisis. This event was a small token of appreciation for their dedication and sacrifice.

A heartfelt thank you to all the businesses, residents, and volunteers who made First Responders Appreciation Day a success. Your generosity and support were truly appreciated by our community’s heroes.
